Elizabeth A. "Libby" Shrader, age 82, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, Illinois on Thursday April 5, 2018 at 1:39 am. Libby was born on January 13, 1936 in Egowah, Arkansas and is the daughter of Alvin J. and Gladys L. Duckin Fields. She was raised and educated in Arkansas, then the family moved to Aurora, Illinois where she spent her early life and was a waitress at "Sylvestors" restaurant for a number of years. She married Emmett W. Shrader on May 30, 1956 in Iuka, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1986. She moved to Oquawka, Illinois and was a production worker at the Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant in Middletown, Iowa for a number of years. She lastly was a cashier employed at "Fast Break" in Oquawka, Illinois. Libby loved to work on Puzzle Books and was devoted to her family and grandchildren. Surviving is one son, Rick (Carolyn) Shrader of Monmouth, Illinois and two daughters, Mary Beth Mohr and her significant other, Darrel Bearden in Walker, Minnesota and Billye Lynn Davila in Aurora, Illinois. There are four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also surviving. There are two sisters, Nita Jill Tripp and Phyllis Fisher, both of Aurora, Illinois and two brothers, Danny Fields of Loftant, Illinois and Ray Fields of Aurora, Illinois. A number of other relatives are also surviving. She is preceded in her death by her parents, and one sister.
Her family plans a visitation followed by cremation at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois on Sunday April 8, 2018 and will be at the Funeral Home receiving friends from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Cremation will then be accorded. A memorial fund is being established for Western Illinois Animal Rescue in Monmouth, Illinois.
