Anthony J. "Tony" Campagna, Jr

Anthony J. "Tony" Campagna, Jr  80, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 9:40 pm on February 24, 2018 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, Illinois. Tony was born on April 22, 1937 in Monmouth and is the son of Antonio J. and Dorothy L. Pusatere Campagna. Tony was raised in Monmouth and attended schools in Monmouth and at Corpus Christi High School in Galesburg. Tony served a number of years in the National Guard in Monmouth. He previously married Celia Hart and later married Sandra K. Willis on July 7, 1979 in Monmouth, Illinois. She preceded him in death on January 27, 2005. Tony first worked at Barnes Super Value in Monmouth for many years doing about everything. He then joined his brother, Nicholas in the daily operations of the Monmouth Fruit Company here in Monmouth, until it's closing. Following this, Tony was in sales for the Wonder Bread operation in the Quad Cities and later Eagle Snacks out of Burlington, Iowa. Finally he was the custodian at the United Methodist Church of Monmouth for thirteen years. Tony was a member of the Monmouth J.C.s and loved animals and caring for his aviary and his various birds. He also was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. 

Tony is survived by four daughters, Jody (Charles) Robbins of Monmouth, Paula (David) Olson of Alexis, Toni (Brian) Doubet of Galesburg, and Sherri Anderson of Chicago, Illinois. There are four sons, Tracy Campagna of Monmouth, Christopher (Karin) Campagna of Oneida, Larry (Angie) Smith of St.Croix in the Virgin Islands, and Mark Campagna in Rock Island, Illinois. There are 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren also surviving. Tony's brother, Nicholas (Delores) Campagna is surviving in Monmouth, IL. He is preceded in his death by his parents, wife, one son Tony, and one sister Rose Marie.

A funeral service for Tony will be at 10:30 am on Saturday March 3, 2018 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral service. A visitation is planned by his family from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday evening at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established for MELC (Methodist Early Learning Center) of Monmouth, Illinois
